To Commemorate Dunkirk, 26 May – 4 June 1940, and in preparation for the Bolt Action Summer Campaign ‘Invasion Of Britain’ we bring you a series of Bolt Action Armies flavoured to depict both the Allies and Axis forces, of all nationalities, that took part in this vital part of our history… The German forces relentlessly pursued them toward a small strip of land in Northern France… Blitzkrieg Germans The French attempted constant counter-attacks continually tried to form new defensive lines each time finding that German forces had already by-passed them and moved on.Ī major French armoured counter-attack organised by Colonel de Gaulle could not be sustained. A triple-pronged offensive using the XV Panzer Corps (attacking towards Brest, XIV Panzer Corps (attacking east of Paris, towards Lyon), and the XIX Panzer Corps (encircling the Maginot Line).


The German forces swept into Holland and Belgium overcoming the Allies’ 4,000 armoured vehicles, many of which were superior to German equivalents in armour and firepower.įollowing their initial success, Operation Red (Fall Rot) began.
